ive got a c20xe thats idle just above the 1000 mark. trying to get it down.... ive done the idle control valve (changed) to no affect and replaced the temp sensor to no joy. also cleaned the injectors... no difference and done a all round clean and flush thru. what the hell is it?????????????
ive checked for air leaks and theres none.... could it be the air mass meter???? are there any aother sensors to look at.... help needed guys...

When was it last serviced and fuel filter changed?

cam shaft sensor...

the hall effect sensor normally brings up the engine management light

the car has had new cam belt, new dizzy and arm, new leads and sparks and oil change. the fuel filter was changed a year ago. i havnt looked at the cam sensor would that be the prob? and can you please tell me what the hall affect is cheers

throttle position sensor could be one to look at after everything else mentioned above

looked at that too bud you can hear it click when the throttle is in rest. is there no way of manual adjustment on these buggers???

right, forgive me as I dont own a C20XE but.... is there not an adjustment screw for the butterflies in the throttle body? have you checked the butterflies close fully to enable the ICV to work correctly?

Also, I recently had a running issue.... it was my throttle position switch that I had knocked slightly when fitting a new alternator. The throttle position sensor had a VERY small about of play in it that if pushed forwards fully it basically made the car cut out when allying the throttle, moved it back into position the other way and it ran but made the idle high and almost as if the throttle was applied sightly. It had to be in the exact right position so had to play around with it loose before nipping it up tight all the way.

found what i mean....
