Graces Atlantis Blue project

Thanks for the sweet comments guys, I really appreciate it, sometimes I feel like the Astra is a lost cause, but then at the same time I can't help but love it, especially the colour, as it stands out around here, and everyone seems to know it by now :)

We have taken off the badges from the boot too, but some of the glue underneath was rock solid dry... what is the best way to take it off without taking the paint off with the glue? or should I just sand it off and respray the little lip where the badges sit??

Here is the glue from the badges I am talking about:

Here is my Pioneer DVD Player - Given to me by Dave! set him back €1100 including iPod adapter! It's touch screen, and you can control the iPod from it, aswel as watch DVD's. You can connect up a games console, and add extra control boxes to have Sat Nav, Multi CD/DVD changers etc!

Here are my yellow brake calipers, Black rear drums, and new ariel:

These were the wheels Dave put under his last car, that I want. He got them sprayed in Anthracite, and spent ages getting them to this stage

Random pic of Daves Calibra, my Astra, and our scrap heap Corsa all parked up, as you can see, we aint short of space where we live :D

I'm the brains behind the outfit, Dave is the monkey! But a brilliant one at that in my eyes :) I'm not technically minded, but I do love to see how people modify their cars, and I have always dreamt of having my own some day. Once I met Dave, I knew straight away that dream would come true :)

Thanks guys for the comments, the front tyre in that pic looks like it's going soft, but in actual fact, it's not :) Dave keeps a watchful eye over everything for me :) and always reports back if there is a problem :D

It's nice to be back on here, time to start looking through other build threads for idea's for my own car :) :D

Awesome :) If your monkey wants a challenge then get him to fit cruise control :P

Its nice to see that people will battle through the ups and downs to keep there pride and joy on the road. My last one cost me some money in the end and my new one is trying my patience but I know that in the end it will be worth it!! Good Luck can't wait to see the finished article :-)

thanks Toml123 :) It's the best colour they produced for the car I think :D

hey washfordmk3 :) You aint the only one who can't wait for the finished article :D It's such a pain that I wanna do something, yet can't afford to, really gets me down :( Given time though, i hope it will be a headturner one day for all the right reasons :D

Dave here, I started another repair job on the Astra today, well I say another, more like a continuation from yesterday!

You will find in the Ice section of here, our problems with the lack of radio reception...

Took a few pics to explain to Grace what I had to do, etc, she nearly had heart failure when she saw the next 2 pics haha, all she could say was "do you know what your doing?" do women ever have faith in us men??

Here was where the red/grey wire had broken, and also how clean cut the other end was as I found it

DSC03680.jpg

Can anybody tell me what the black/white wire runs to on the car side of the ISO block??

DSC03681.jpg

I also have a few basic toggle switches lying around, and I thought they could be put into use somewhere on Gracie's Astra... I have already wired one up to switch the amp on and off for the sub, what else could I have wired in?? I think I might have a couple of relays spare too :) does anybody have any suggestions?

cheers,

Dave
