Spigots for wheels or discs?

Im sure my mtec discs didnt need them but I MIGHT have some if you do need disc ones ping me a message on fb or anywhere ill post them up
For the discs as the central bore is a different size between models that use the bigger discs.
I did find some for about £15
i've never heard of disc spigot rings? wouldn't of thought you would need them as the 2 screws hold the disc to the drive flange?
Sure there was only one screw on these?

Got a delivery of plugs the other day, with new crimps, was able to make up some new plugs and looms etc.
IMG_2585.jpeg

Started by putting a new plug on for the intake air temp sensor.
Learnt the hard way have to feed the wire through before crimping :frusty:

IMG_2523.jpeg

IMG_2524.jpeg

Then started on the throttle body loom

IMG_2588.jpeg

IMG_2589.jpeg
Maybe a little long but better than being too short.

Then did one for the coolant sensor too
IMG_2591.jpeg

Crimped the coolant sensors off with a deutsch connector and labelled too…
IMG_2600.jpeg

New loom plug…
IMG_2603.jpeg

Used the pins 1-4 for the injector switched negative and 5 is for the constant live.
IMG_2604.jpeg

IMG_2606.jpeg

Chopped the old one out… no going back now
IMG_2609.jpeg
All wired in….
IMG_2623.jpeg

Look oem+

IMG_2621.jpeg

IMG_2625.jpeg

Now to get it all connected and hope it all works

When i had the 4pots on my gsi the discs came with spigots. It used to be common on 288/280mm swaps to do it

Ahh okay, well I’m gonna order the discs next pay day and see what they come with. In two minds either to clean them up and paint them or get them powder coated

Got myself some labels for my Dad brother label printer, Got the small yellow ones, bit of an after thought and I didn't have any clear shrink wrap so used some of the loom tape to help secure.

Been able to label/number for each injector as the original loom was

IMG_2853.jpeg

With the lower inlet on, I filled with some coolant, and no leaks. Just put some spare Injectors in as mine where off to be tested and overhauled.
IMG_2867.jpeg

I did get it started, The seals need doing on the injectors in their so looking forward to getting mine back.
But it works!

For now im going to get it running, with the likes of the SAI, so as that is going back on ive Cleaned up the brackets and everything so they look smart.

Before:

After

IMG_2872.jpeg

The other wiring needs tidying up, but it's running, and time to get it moved and can get it cleaned and polished.

Started back on this last week after a few days away from it.

First problem I couldn't get the bonnet open as I had removed this to clean it up and hadn't realised it had a purpose.....
IMG_3279.jpeg

I then started on with sorting a proper grounding spot out for some of the loom which was originally grounded around the throttle body.

Used some of my stainless steel Allen bolts and some washers to fill the hole on the drivers side suspension pillar.
IMG_3352.jpeg

Next was to wrap and tidy the remaining cables for the other parts. This was fairly easy and ive been able to hide most of the loom under the black plastic cover on the scuttle.

IMG_3351.jpeg

IMG_3354.jpeg

Cleared all the fault codes whilst I had the laptop nearby.

IMG_3288.jpeg

Will be taxing tomorrow I hope and get it driving about, Car show next week so need to get it looking presentable for that.
IMG_3355.jpeg

Bit of an Update, Since I had the body work done a year or so ago, the trim on the rear passenger door had to come off and when I tried to re-attach it, it kept catching and bent the plastic, so I took that off and got a 3rd party replacement of the eBay.... When I took it off it took off some of the paint, so put some primer on then left for a few days before sticking the new one on.

IMG_3552.jpeg

IMG_3553.jpeg

Got some newer bolts for the likes of the headlight and the arch liners.

IMG_3551.jpeg

most of the prep was for the car show this weekend, Had plenty of comments about good it looked and fairly OEM+

JJCleggPhotography2024__DSF8037.jpeg

Weather has been **** today.... so got on with the lights that have taken a back burner as a lot of compiling wiring etc. Was time to tackle it:

IMG_3614.jpeg

Used my Deutsch connector kit, so on the main 4 pin plug got the daytime lights, and the shutter on the Bi-Xenon.

IMG_3615.jpeg

Got the glass from the angel eyes resealed on the original lights, Not going to be 100% but im learning and enjoying the process...

IMG_3626.jpeg

On moving the car, after the recent heavy hail stone its emphasised the crack on the top of the windscreen, so maybe a new windscreen time....

IMG_3625.jpeg

and a canny chip too....
IMG_3622.jpeg

Might need a new banner for the sun-strip Andy_Mk3

Got a few days off work, so got on with a few things that needed some work…. Calipers, ordered the rebuild kits and got on with paint/rust removal.
IMG_3813.jpeg

IMG_3832.jpeg

IMG_3818.jpeg

Coated it with some Jenolite, cleaned it off and got some Halfords caliper paint on it. Whilst I was on with it I got the carriers painted as well.
IMG_3820.jpeg

IMG_3838.jpeg

IMG_3840.jpeg

IMG_3833.jpeg

I’m no painter…. So keep it in mind :bounce:

Cleaned up the Anti roll bar as well and got that painted with the same paint…

IMG_3836.jpeg

IMG_3837.jpeg

IMG_3839.jpeg

What fittings do I need to fit the Anti roll bar?//

Did my roof liner today, been long awaited...

IMG_3861.jpeg

Off it came, and the sound deadening is keeping up well.

IMG_3863.jpeg

IMG_3864.jpeg

It all starred when I tried to wet vac it when I first took it out... learnt from that mistake...

Took the first layer off then the hard work of getting the old foam and any remaining adhesive.
IMG_3867.jpeg

Used a plastic scraper and the Karcher Vac.

IMG_3868.jpeg

Once it was clean I did it over with the vacuum again then got to work with the upholstery spray.

IMG_3872.jpeg
easy to put on and then started to cut the holes for various bits.
IMG_3875.jpeg

IMG_3879.jpeg

Not the best but loads better than it was before.

Whilst I waited for it to settle I set about routing the dash cam rear camera cable through the nooks and crannies on the roof bit, helps tidy it up a bit.

IMG_3881.jpeg

IMG_3886.jpeg

Also did a Timelapse of the Re-trim on the roof liner:

Yea great work on the headlining, I gave this a go and ended up just ruining my headlining and having to give it to someone who knows what they are doing!

Great work with the roof lining, I've got the wife's mk3 to sort but will probably outsource the fix once I've removed it to save me faffing lol.
Usually with things like that it doesn’t go well but it went a lot better than I thought. The material is similar to that of the Octavia I have as a daily.

Thanks aha, time will tell how well it sticks

Got around to fitting the omega wiper stalk to the Astra, followed the guide on here and from other sites.

Makes life a lot easier.

Cut the brown/white wire and soildered the brown/white on the plug from the new wiper, the two wires just go to the variable resistor dial on the stalk, if you swap them it just changes which way around the delay is in relation to the diagram on the stalk.

New:
IMG_3945.jpeg

Then just had to put the relay in from the omega, and it works!
IMG_3949.jpeg

Some really nice work here cleggy

quality of your wiring repairs is great now clegg! brilliant job. I have thought about fitting this mod before, but as it only comes out in the dry seemed pointless haha

Fantastic work Clegg. Love how confident you are now with wiring and general repairs. Well deserved beer in a field with like minded people next weekend :)

Thanks guys

Time for some proper power increases…. 10bhp per calliper has to be worth it :car:
IMG_4597.jpeg
IMG_4599.jpeg
Bit of wire brush on the drill to try clean them up, wipe over with some spirit and then couple of coats of caliper paint.

IMG_4600.jpeg

Even cleaned up the anti-vibration thing..
IMG_4610.jpeg

Whilst the wheels where off gave them a clean and put some wax on them will keep them clean for vboa.
IMG_4745.jpeg

IMG_4749.jpeg

IMG_4679.jpeg

Test fit as well of the alpine amp I got off of Facebook for £40
